1937 was
an eventful year. Lyndon Johnson was elected to his
first term in the House of Representatives, Joe
DiMaggio was helping the New York Yankees win yet
another world series, San Francisco was opening the
Golden Gate Bridge and the canned miracle of Spam hit
the market.
On the home front, W.T. (Hooker)
Vandergriff opened his Chevrolet dealership on the
corner of Division and Center Street here in
Arlington. This was the humble beginning of the
Vandergriff chain of auto dealerships. It would have
been hard for them to envision the multi-million
dollar body shop operations we have today. Well, times
have changed. Automobiles have come a long way from
the full-framed, heavy metal bodies they once had.

Today we
have unibody construction with no frames and high
strength steel (HSS) body panels. We also see space
age polymers being used as body panels as well as
flexible bumpers. Today we
have very sophisticated two and three stage paint
applications.
Vandergriff has kept up with these ever changing
vehicle designs with the latest in repair techniques
and equipment. Today
the Vandergriff name is on five dealerships and two
collision facilities. Vandergriff forms a major part
of the Arlington economy. Our name has always
represented honesty and integrity in serving the
public. Vandergriff is truly an "Arlington
tradition, since 1937".

We
have two convenient locations. A 40,000 sq. foot
facility in north Arlington and a 37,500 sq. foot
facility in south Arlington.

We
are the collision repair facility for all the
Vandergriff dealerships. This includes
Chevrolet, Buick, Honda, Acura and Toyota.
However we are not exclusive to these car lines.
We perform quality repair on all makes and models.
We have the latest in frame and unibody equipment
as well as six of the latest “downdraft” paint
booths. Also included are two of the most high
tech measuring devices available today. One is the
“Shark” by HeinWerner. This is a sonar-operated
machine and the other is the “Genesis” by Chief.
This machine uses a laser to measure your vehicle.
Both of these machines are capable of returning
your vehicle to factory specifications.

We
have certified factory trained body and paint
technicians specially trained in the repair of
your GM, Honda, Acura and Toyota. Our technicians
are continually trained and updated by our
factories as well as I-CAR and ASE certified
classes throughout each year. We are I-CAR Gold
Class Professionals. This is the highest
classification in body and paint repair training
from I-CAR (Inter-industry Conference on Auto
Repair). This is the organization that the
insurance companies look to for training.
We at Vandergriff Collision are proud of our
customer satisfaction (CSI) record. In 2003 we
repaired over 4000 vehicles. We ended the year
with a CSI rating of 96% completely satisfied.
This put us in the top 10% of all body shops in
the nation. Being involved in an accident and
having to deal with the insurance company and the
repair process need not be a traumatic experience.
Our pledge to you is to minimize this aggravation
by working closely with your insurance while
repairing your vehicle in a prompt and
professional manner.
You are the customer at Vandergriff Collision, not
the insurance company. We are in good standing
with all the insurance companies and will treat
them fairly, but we will not compromise your
safety or the quality of the repair. We expect the
insurance companies to live up to their obligation
to put your vehicle, as close as possible, back to
pre-accident condition.
Your best
interest is our #1 concern.
We offer a Limited Lifetime Warranty on all
our repairs. We have rental cars
available at both locations.
